How to play

Double Dog is a very casual game – there are four ways you can play, depending on how competitive you’re feeling and how long you want the game to last:

  1. Collecting categories
Compete to spot the most different categories of dogs (you take the point if you’re the first to call the pairing). A good way of playing the game on a day trip if you’re feeling a bit competitive.

  2. First to finish
Compete to spot dogs from all the categories. This will probably take more than a day unless you’re somewhere like Keswick, where there are tonnes of dogs!
To keep track of your finds, you could share pictures on the socials or just in a WhatsApp group with your family and friends.

  3. Collect points
Some of the categories are more common than others, so if you want to collect points, we’d suggest scoring as follows:
1 point: Double Dog, Fat Labrador
2 points: Triple Dog, Big Dog Tiny Dog, Straight Dog Curly Dog, Pick ‘n’ Mix
3 points: Wet Dog Dry Dog, Quad Dog
You could set a target for the winner e.g. first to 10 points wins.

  4. Casual spotting
We tend to play this way, just for the fun of it. No points are collected, but we call them out as we spot them. It’s just for the sheer pleasure of spotting the dogs and having a bit of fun.
