The Double Dog game originated when our kids were little and we didn’t even have a dog! We frequently visit family in Keswick, which is dog central, and we enjoyed spotting all the different kinds of dogs. We weren’t too interested in spotting particular breeds as we didn’t know much about them – instead we focused on categories based on their appearance. So we’re looking for pairs of dogs that look almost identical (Double Dog) or with opposing characteristics (e.g. Big Dog Tiny Dog and Straight Dog Curly Dog).
The categories grew over a number of years, and eventually we set down some rules to codify the chaos. Fifteen years later and we’re sharing game with you!
